Refinery29: "Superwoman"

One of my fave lifestyle websites, Refinery29, has added Rachel to their Superwoman series. Click here to read the article. This piece reminds me of when I first read about Rachel via Vogue magazine; a really cool marriage of nerdy tech and fashion.

Who is Rachel Haot?

I've finally decided to change the blog header to reflect Rachel's married name but I'm still debating whether or not to change the blog URL altogether. Thoughts anyone?

A lot has changed since I last posted in 2013:
  • Rachel now has a page on Wikipedia
  • No longer the Chief Digital Officer of New York City, Rachel is now the Chief Digital Officer and Deputy Secretary of Technology for New York State...sounds fancy!
  • Rachel had a baby!

Wedding Belle

I'm SOOO behind on this story. What can I say, summer makes me lazy.

Rachel & Max tied the knot near the end of July at East Hampton Point in New York...and not surprisingly, the event was live-streamed! Related articles can be found here:

At the NYSE

Rachel was at the New York Stock Exchange on Friday for the Closing Bell as a part of Internet Week New York with David-Michael Davies (chairman of IWNY) and a slew of other techie people. Check NASDAQ's page here for more info and pics.

In fashion related news, Rachel is either pulling a Kate Middleton (i.e. wearing something more than once) or she really, really likes that red dress.

Gimme Wi-Fi!

I noticed a huge jump in my page visits today. Then I figured out why. This morning Rachel was on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" promoting New York's Love NYC Facebook photo contest. Poor Rachel spent the first half smiling politely while the hosts demanded Wi-Fi be available in the subway and their shower...

Forbes 30 Under 30

Back in December, Forbes magazine released their first ever 30 Under 30 issue and it was no surprise Rachel made the list in the Law & Policy category. To celebrate, Forbes hosted a party last Tuesday at their headquarters on Fifth Avenue in NYC. Here are some pics from the red carpet as well as inside the party.

Forbes also posted a video on YouTube...no Rachel interview here but after watching it I'd like to know...who the heck is Danielle Fong???

Social Media Week....finally some Rachel news!

Today at Tumblr headquarters, Mayor Bloomberg announced that New York City is launching it's own Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Foursquare accounts as part of Social Media Week. And of course as Chief Digital Officer, Rachel was right there with him.
